Jordan has several important institutions that score moderately, and key assessments of openness — civil society participation, the media environment and freedom of information — score moderate to strong. Jordan's performance in executive, legislative and judicial accountability and political financing is among the worst recorded in 2007. Executive accountability practices, like asset disclosure or even the ability to prosecute high officials is lacking. There is no election monitoring agency (or equivalent process), suggesting that while voting is generally inclusive, election results may not be secure.
