The text is detailed and interesting part of a reality that is lived in the country, with the investigation of the parapolitica. However, lack of research elsewhere and are the links between political leaders and guerrillas of the FARC. That's why I think it is a text that is missing the other side of modern. I think we also missed talk of corruption in the Armed Forces, which have been responsible for extra judicial killings. The method is to kidnap people and then report them as killed in combat. These two elements missing, I consider very important to show the reality we now live nationwide.

The Reporters Notebook is very clear and presents a key element in the corruption situation of Colombia. I believe that by having chosen to analyze a situation that links President Uribe Velez, the reporter is accurately showing how the corruption in Colombia is not only happening at a local and smaller level but that it has reached the higher spheres of the government. I think one element that I would add to the Report is the fact that despite the corruption presented the President managed to change the Constitution and get reelected by the Colombian people and has had one of the highest approval rates in the country.

Indudablemente el tema de la para-política siguió siendo el escándalo de corrupción más importante en el 2008 en Colombia, por todas las implicaciones que él tiene. El reporte recoge los hechos y datos fundamentales. Sin embargo, me gustaría hacer dos sugerencias:
1. Resaltar aún más el significado corrupto de la visita del hoy asesinado paramilitar JOB a la Casa de Nariño, donde se reunió con el Secretario de Prensa y el Secretario Jurídico del presidente Álvaro Uribe Vélez. Considero que ese hecho tiene una trascendencia bastante mayor que la que registra en el reporte.
2. Ligar el reporte a otro hecho igual de grave que el de la para-política y es el de los homicidios extra judiciales por parte de miembros del Ejercito, es decir, los llamados "falsos positivos". Creo que el escándalo por las desapariciones forzadas y posterior asesinato de jóvenes por parte del Ejército, los cuales fueron mostrados como "muertos en combate" guarda una estrecha relación con la política de seguridad democrática que impulsa el gobierno del presidente Uribe y con todo el tema paramilitar. Hasta noviembre de 2008 eran más de 750 las investigaciones abiertas por la Fiscalía por casos de desapariciones forzadas y homicidios por parte de miembros de la Fuerza Pública.
